Projects: Museums at Night

Over 300 visitors joined the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts Museums at Night celebrations on Friday 17 May for a free evening of art, live performance, and interactive projects.

The successful event programmed by the Young Associates saw musicians, artists and performers presenting new work, responding to the theme of Traces. Over twenty artists invigorated the building with experimental installations placed within the permanent collection of the centre. A wide range of work was presented across a range of media, including sculpture, film, photography and creative writing. Highlights included Nicholas Osborne’s dynamic glow stick installation which responded to the footsteps of visitors, Robert Good’s Collection for the Sainsbury Centre which responded to ideas about culture and methods of display and an interactive work by Francesca Cant that visitors were encouraged to destroy.
