The Sainsbury Centre runs regular projects and workshops for young people wanting to engage with art. We offer a range of opportunities for young people to develop their creative practice. Young people can choose to work with professional artists to learn new skills and techniques or develop projects in response to the Sainsbury Centre collections and exhibitions.
Young Associates is a group of young people who work together to devise and deliver visual arts projects in response to the Sainsbury Centre collections, work closely with staff to curate public events and exhibitions for the Sainsbury Centre programme, work with contemporary artists and engage with current issues in art and culture.
The Sainsbury Centre is an Arts Award Supporter, offering young people between the ages of 15-25 the opportunity to gain an Arts Award, a national qualification from Trinity College London.
The Sainsbury Centre runs a week-long Work Experience programme in July for four students in years 10 and 11. During the week, students work with staff from a variety of departments, including the Curatorial, Collections Management, Front of House, Learning and Marketing teams.
Applications for the 2017 Work Experience have now closed.
Students interested in applying for the 2018 programme should check back here in early November 2017 for more information. We will hope to be selecting students for the programme in December 2017.
